A Different Kind of Open Bar

Happy Thursday, lovely Hey Gorg readers! This is Lisa again!

I love a candy bar as much as the next sweet-toothed guest does. I am constantly impressed by the creative ways people present them, and I hope they never go out of style…but what really grabs my attention is when someone presents a different kind of bar–something fun and out-of-the-box. You can show off your favorite foods (macaroni and cheese bar, please!), honor your heritage (pretzel bar for Germany, sushi bar for Japan, etcetera), complement your theme (waffle bar at a brunch wedding), showcase your locale (if I ever came across a Texas bbq bar, I might pass out with joy), or really anything! The possibilities are endless, and it’s a perfect way to add a creative, no-one-else-has-done-it touch to your big day. Here’s a little round up of some of my favorites.

{Biscuit bar: homemade biscuits, assorted jam and jelly, honey, butter}

{Pancake bar: stacks of pancakes, lots of fresh fruit, assorted maple syrups, whipped cream}

{S’mores bar: Assorted sweet crackers and cookies, flavored and regular marshmallows, lots of chocolate}

{Ice cream bar: assorted ice cream flavors, candy toppings, sprinkles, whipped cream, sauces, waffle cones, cherries}

{Cheese bar: your favorite types of cheese, crackers, bread, olives, grapes, meats}

{Pie bar: just a whole lot of pie should do the trick! ;) Whipped cream optional}

{Coffee and donuts bar: assorted brewed coffee, cream, sugar, milk, assorted donut holes, dipping sauces}

So fun, right? What kind of bar would you love to find at the next wedding you attend?

Love,

Lisa
